Impressed with the number of new products and initiatives to make Shakespeare more accessible than ever, I have dubbed this year “Bard 2009.”
Today I discovered a new application by CHS Systems which is set bring out the Bard’s playful side for iphone users.
The Official Shakespeare Audio Insulter is an old idea reinvented for the iphone generation – simply touch the Bard’s image and stand back as he randomly generates words of abuse drawn from his plays.
Again, I feel that this is a small development in a much bigger movement: the desire to make Shakespeare more fun and accessible. “Bard 2009” is gaining momentum.

The Official Shakespeare Audio Insulter is hilarious! What he doesn’t mention is that it only speaks when you shake it or tap. And the voice … well just download it.
